Event Report - Hatsunuki in Houston, 2003 January 1, Dawn
The weather was cold, dry, and very clear this morning for the first ever hatsunuki in Houston. Those attending were Joe Charles, Sue Curtis, Jim Robeson, and Lindy Sisk. We gathered at my house and went into the back yard for the ceremony.
After warming up with one repetition of Batto Ho, we each took turns doing Mae to the east. Afterwards we retired inside to enjoy steaming hot sake, a potluck breakfast, and each other's company. This was a very pleasant way to start the New Year. Other organized hatsunuki gatherings occurred in Denton and Baton Rouge.
